New newsletter subscriptions are handled by beehiiv, our newsletter provider. You join, confirm your email address and unsubscribe through beehiiv's hosted newsletter page and the unsubscribe link in each email. Beehiiv is provider managed and may process your data outside the EEA.

Earlier on this site, a signup form stored your email address, the time you agreed, the version of the consent text and the page you signed up from. Those signups were saved as pending and unverified, and no email was sent to them. Pending records from that form were not imported into beehiiv.

If you used that earlier form, your data was kept in a Cloudflare D1 database located in the EU. To limit abuse, a hashed form of your IP address was kept in a rate limit bucket. The plain address was not stored, and the bucket expires and is deleted.

The removal form on this page only removes a prior signup from that D1 database. It does not unsubscribe you from beehiiv. To leave the newsletter, use the unsubscribe link in any email from beehiiv.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits in aggregate, such as which pages are viewed. Visitors from the EU are excluded from that counting. We do not use advertising pixels.

Enquiries about services are made by email to hello@lorixen.com. No form on this site stores them. For questions or requests about your data, write to the same address.

Remove an earlier signup

Only for people who signed up on this site before the newsletter moved to beehiiv. This removes that earlier signup and nothing else.

How your details are used

Answers are kept for 90 days, only to reply to you, and used for nothing else.
